This is exactly what Richard and Annie Ellmers did, when in June 2005 they moved from the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia to, Denver, Colorado to launch The Aussie Pooch Mobile franchise.

Initially from New Zealand Richard and Annie have always had an entrepreneurial spirit and a love for dogs. Commencing their own business in lawn care at just 21 years of age, they soon had a very successful business and two much loved Rottweilers ‘Koke’ and ‘Cola’.

Looking for a better lifestyle and different opportunities, in 1996, Richard and Annie migrated to Australia. That’s when they came across “Aussie Pooch Mobile’.

The Aussie Pooch Mobile was the first franchise system of its kind, and is the largest dog wash and care company in the World, washing and caring for over 30,000 dogs and their conscientious owners every month. The Pooch Mobile is operating in Malaysia, New Zealand, New Caledonia, United Kingdom and now the US.

Richard and Annie could not have been happier. They could now combine their love of dogs with their business skills. They operated a very successful regional franchise as well as providing franchise support and training to more than 100 other franchisees with Aussie Pooch Mobile. Richard and Annie also provided training to help establish the pet care franchise in other countries.

Along the way Richard and Annie have won many awards for their business efforts, the most prestigious being Qld Franchisee of the Year for all franchise systems within Australia.

After their proven track record and their passion for dogs, they were the obvious choice to establish ‘The Pooch Mobile’ in the US. Having set up home, office and adopting a Rottweiler ‘Alf’ they have also established a very successful pilot operation for The Pooch Mobile. To keep up with the demand for the service The Pooch Mobile has now commenced franchising.
